I would love to be able to get together with another department or two, like the history department for example, and work on standardizing at least some of the writing that we do across the disciplines. We could even do something as simple as getting together all freshmen and sophomore teachers to standardize what a paragraph response should look like in order to be acceptable. This would show our younger students that all teachers expect a certain level of effort to be shown in all of their written responses.
